I have started to notice my engine revving higher than usual in gears 2 - 5. Example in 5th gear doing 70 at approx 3000 revs. If I accelerate hard the revs shoot up to approx 4500 revs then come back to 3500 and the car starts to accelerate.
Also when decelerating 3rd gear approx 45 mph I hear a strange vibration noise coming from underneath the car. A friend suggested it could be a loose heat shield or part of the exhaust (Full scoobysport system)
My car is MY 95 UK Impreza Turbo.
Any advice appreciated

hello fella, sounds to me as though your clutch is slipping, the noise could possibly be the springs in the centre plate breaking up or the clutch release bearing. rectify before it goes all together matey.

Cheers Phoenix1

Getting the clutch replaced next week by my local garage. Subaru dealer wanted £250+ for the clutch and £350 for fitting! Much cheaper to buy a clutch on the net and get someone else to fit it.
