Yeah, but Paul, I prefer to drive my scooby

I'm old fashioned & believe in the old events section, besides, is Snetterton South, Midlands or East? For you, it's got to be North

I'll be there, Silver MY94 WRX, complete with slicks, so it had better be dry!

Cool

James

Look forward to seeing you there. It should be great . Yet again I've been playing TOCA to remeber the track layout. It will be good to try out my new brakes and exhaust. Who else is going? Does anyone know how many cars will be there?

Tim

Haven't a clue as to track layout. Just been told not to stack it at the chicane!

Got the new brakes last Thurs, so should have bedded in by Sunday Might need them

Question

James

What brakes have you done? I've only done my pads and lines at the moment but they should last a lot longer than standard pads. Which way will you be going on Sunday morning. I'm in Chelmsford and will be leaving about 7ish. May be we could start our own little convey. Anyone else out there fancy starting a little run from the Essex area?

I'll be in Holland for the 555 club party, but you will all have a great time at Snet.

A couple of tips, get your braking done at the end of the main straight. Although the left is a fast corner, the right that follows is very tight and the car is too unsettled to get another prod of the brakes in. There doesn't seem to be a clean line through the chicane, so I just throw it in and use the right hand side run off for the exit. Bomb hole and Coppice... DON'T LIFT!!!

Have a good (safe) time guys.

Pete

Pete,

Interesting.....I always dual brake at the left / right.....cos you dont need to lose quite as much speed for the faster left if you do....(?) This is certainly how Ive been taught, but it may not be right...anyone else?

Brembos

I'm already starting from the Cambs area. There is a BP station on the A14 near N'market before A11 turn-off. Also just off the roundabout at the Haverhill/Cambridge turn-off (just past where the A505 joins A11). Poss the one nearer N'market is better.

I'll be bedding in some new Brembos on the way, can't wait!

You need to speak to Darin Frow. He normally organises the SIDC days, but this is one of his own. Cost is £85 + £25 per additional driver. His email is Darin.Fro@capgemini.co.uk

Help!

I've contacted Darin via E-Mail, with no success. If there is any chance of going on Sunday I'd be gutted to miss out. Anyone know any other way to get in contact with Darin??

Forgive me if I'm wrong but doesn't Pete organise most trackdays in conjunction with Darin, in conjunction with the LTR. This bash at Snetterton is with Darin's new company (Trackstar?) and not the LTR, although I believe he does still organise LTR days as well!

James/Stuart/Everyone

Thanks for all your help with this, I've spoken to Darin and I'm all booked in.

I can't wait, never been on a track day before so will need lots of help? Any Track Day Virgin Tips and Tricks would be gratefully received.

Anyone going from Guildford Way

Les

Les.

It's well worth grabbing one of the instructors that will be present, and going out with them to begin with.
It doesn't cost anything either.
Oh, and it's worth considering renting a set of part-worn tyres for the day, as your road tyres will be destroyed if it's dry.
My friends tyre van will be in attendance, so call Mark on 01604 588599 if you are interested in this service, or possibly need to buy new tyres afterwards.

Stef.

Great - I'm a Track Virgin too - least I won't be on my own

Sounds like all separate movement at the moment, Tim & TonyB haven't come up with a meeting place yet.

Tim/JamesH - and anyone else going up the M11/A14/A11.

I'll be stopping at the Station that you suggested (Near Newmarket on the A14 Section before it splits off to become the A11 again) at 7am or so for a coffee. See you there.

I'll email you guys with my mobile number, call or email me if the time's a problem. I think signing on is at 8 am.

Weather looks warm and sunny - get ready for some peeling rubber.....

Hi guys

I was planning a nice little run through Sudbury along the A134 to Thetford. At that time on a Sunday morning it should be quite quiet and will be a nice drive and only take about a hour.

I've found a good map of the circuit at
