Just got it this morning
The cars seem to handle much more realistically than in 3
Haven't tried the Scoob yet but the Xsara seems okay
My weekend is now planned out for me

There are 3 views available
Cockpit View (way too hard)
Rear of car view
Bumper View
I think it's bumper view anyway, where you can only see the road and no car
Overall I think the game is much better than CM3, handling is much more realistic than 3 but after completing 1 stage in each 4WD car I think the Scoob came last in driveability...unless I'm just crap
The Focus for me is the better car to use
In CM4 you can also race 2WD, 4WD, Custom and Expert Championship and it is Live Compatible
I managed to get hold of an "Evaluation Copy"
I'll be buying the original to go on Live though

I never touched CM3 because it didn't feel real compared to CM2.
I still often play CM2 but would be interested in trying out CM4.
Hanley - does it feel anything like CM2?

Been playing the PS2 demo this weekend, available with the official PS2 mag.
I like it, but not sure if it is a big enough step up over 3. Codies should give CMR3 owners an upgrade option, but they wont.
Bit dissapointed that there is no bonnet cam, i.e. cockpit, but where you can just see the bonnet. Bumper cam is a bit hard work, so I will have to use the cockpit view.
Trackside object interaction is supposed to be a bit naff as well, as in a small sapling will stop you dead.

Gah I'd be waiting ages to d/l 1.1Gb!! will have to wait to rent it out on the 19th!
Does anyone else (that actually brought CM3 ) feel slightly cheated as been as it's only been 9 months since the last release. I have to admit to being extremely unimpressed by CM3 especialy the way the cars skipped about all over the place, even on the replay it looks like the car rotates around the car's centre. Got a demo of CM4 and the car's do feel more weighty and handle much more like the CM2 cars.

i think the coolest thing with this game is when you muller the car and the tyres burst leaving you driving on the metal rim causing sparks
or is that just my poor driving again?
