If it's from a main dealer you'll get a one year warranty from them.

Edited to add : as well as a years Subaru Assist recovery.

With Alcon/Prodrive brakes, 18" Prodrive alloys
15k miles, full SSH
absolute minter with no dings scratches etc!
from a dealer

or would spending 18k on a private with 40k miles same age be a better idea?

answers on a postcard

thanks

thing is it's out of official scoob warranty so it would be an aftermarket job as the scoob one was never renewed

anyone got a gap price book handy

it also has 4 brand new assimetrico's on the 18" gold prodrive alloys and really is the cleanest 3 yr old car i have ever seen, could eat your tea off the intercooler

Don't do it Foz. You need to get something sensible with a towbar. how about a nice Forester.

Cool

Just thought i would add my opinion.
Bought a P1 from main dealer back in January for close to 24k! Previously owned an RB5 WRSport that i went and smashed up.
P1 was on a W 2000 plate. The dealer " threw " in a years extra warranty from Subaru.
The original warranty expired in July.
Unfortunately engine went " POP " back in April, lost the big ends, and alot of damage was done!
Was all fixed under warranty, so believe that the extra money was certainly worth it!
Also took out an " insurance " policy with the dealer, this enabled me to get all my money back if anything happened to the RB5!
In the end i got back what i had paid for the RB5.
I guess what i am trying to say is go and pay a little bit more at the dealer and try and get him to throw the extras in!

Hope that helps!

Mike

FOZ, I agree with Mike. I also bought a P1 and had Big End/Piston failure which was covered under warranty by Subaru at a total cost of £7K so I would never recommend buying one out of warranty. You get 12 months warranty from a main dealer which can be extended for a further 12 months for approx £400 if you want to - well worth the peace of mind in my opinion.

P1's dont seem to be flying off forecourts at the moment so find a good un and haggle, haggle, haggle

(no flames)

dont bother with the P1, get a good type r for 16 from a good importer with full warranty and save the extra 4k for upgrades

£20k for a 'W'plate, dont make me laugh, buy something newer or go for the import STI, if i was spending that kind of money on a scoob i would buy a nice STI 7 and get it re mapped and still have cash left and over 340BHP to play with.
The P1 was nice but its long in the tooth now and the STI 7 is a much better choice.

Mine is for sale for 17.5k.

New engine in it also, mint condition, some extra's - save the rest for a new ecu etc

Can also have 2 years warranty on it for 400 quid.

-------------------------------------

My P1 is a reluctant sale.

Prodrive/Alcon big brakes
Magnex BB
Bumpsteer mod + laser aligned geometry
Excellent paint + wheels
Top CD head unit
Goodyear GSD03s on it
Barrier Deadlock gearbox lock on it + hidden cut off switch
'P1 5OOB' Private Plate
New Engine + Clutch @ 38,000 miles (they have 7000 miles on them only <http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/images/smilies/biggrin.gif> )

Warranty can be extended for another 2 years for 350 quid.

The car is a fantastic buy, it drives beautifully has a new engine under warranty and top brakes. The paint and bodywork are great and its a fantastic buy of a higher mileage P1 at a good price.
