My new STi
Picked up my black STi today, and I think its going to be as good as I thought it would be
Glad the dealer warned me about the preservative oil they spray about, stopped at some traffic lights to see smoke coming from the bonnet vent. Keeping it below 4k for the first 1000 miles is going to be a pain, you can feel the turbo spooling up just at the point you have to lift off
Can't make a judgment if its a better car than my old EVO, only time will tell.
One question though. The brochure states that the UK car can run on 95 unleaded, but the fuel door has a sticker with saying 'use only 98 ron unleaded' ?, stange.

Whos a lucky boy then ?
Keep us updated ref. the STI, thinking about upgrading my 03' WRX to eiter PPP kit (Retro fit) or chopping in for an STI.
Ref. fuel i always use 97/98 RON, have had to use 95 once and was sure it felt different!

Spend a day with a bottle of white spirit, a stiff brush and some rag (an old evo tee shirt?) and get rid of that awful wax. Then get some Meguiars Trim Detailer (or similar) and apply to the black plastic componants and hoses. The result is the dogs!

Up to 500 miles now and this car is growing on me.
Was getting a clunk from the rear over bumps, no noise as I hit a bump but a clunk over a drop off. Found that the wheelbrace was loose in the spare wheel !, tucked it away and no clunk.
Does anyone know how to remove the center console trim so I can get to the radio ?, I want to fit my CD changer.
The handling seems very different from the EVO, similar grip but maybe not as forgiving (wonder if you can fit AYC to a subaru
)
The back end seems more lively, anyone spun one yet ?
Hi to the blue STi 8 near Giggleswick, sorry, but I am still running the car in

Easy to remove the radio, refer to Master Yoda Chiark's faq

Hi,

Asked a mate to have a peekaboo, after 10 seconds, " the ppp sorst is having it off with the diff "bang bang" will ask at 1000 service to have a look.
Other than that, happy, very fecking happy.
