Pangbourne by Bulldog, Osbornes by Haddocks and thats only two on Scoobynet, do these dealers not want the franchise or what?

How many more are going being replaced.

And still not one in Suffolk

Generally weeding them out. For example Bentleys in Sheffield replaced by Montys.

Exclamation

Listers Worcester sales gone to Lexi (but still retain Subaru servicing, repairs and Warranty) sales done by different Dealership cant remember name

I think you'll find it's more to do with Finances

Dealers approaching the end of their Franchise are looking for the best deals Maybe the best deals are made for 'NEW' Dealers rather than retaining 'OLD' dealers IMHO AFAICR etc.etc.

Lancaster Pangbourne wanted it alright. It was taken away from them. The pangbourne site is grade 2 listed and cannot be rebuilt, thats apparently the reason. Image! I'd take decent service and technical know how over image any day.

Older dealers tend to lose their bottle the older they get, they get sick of the hastle, and have made enough money to leave the business anyway. Their boots are then filled by a younger more ruthless dealer, and so the cycle continues.

Some dealers made the choice for whatever reason. The fact that several in a short space of time would imply that it might have been for the same or similar reason, whatever that is (and I doubt it's anything to do with making enough money to get out!!!!).....

My local dealer A&J White of Blackburn have given up the Subaru franchise too, apparently due to Subaru asking them to spend more than they were prepared to on the showroom etc.

I which my local dealer would get taken over or even a more modern arrived in the area.

My dealer are more interested in selling you a grow bag or a tractor then supplying a new car or parts.

They were the only dealer at a local motor show who hadn't bothered to clean there cars and even kept them locked all weekend.

You could jump into as many cars as you liked on other stands i.e Merc, BMW, Audi, Toyota, Ford etc...etc...all you could do with the Subaru's was press you face against the window.

From what I gather International Motors insisted that dealers spend about £100,000 on facelifting their premises to bring their image 'upmarket'. Most legacy (not the car!) dealers had small premises and this amount was too much to pay; International Motors were probably only too aware that this would be the way that a lot of the dealers would react.....

International Motors inflate prices shocker- this is something all buyers new of UK supplied Subarus already know about.
