Anyone know anyplace good and trustable in the Bath/Chippenham area to do the dreaded cam belt change at a reasonable price ?

 

Always found Simpsons (main dealer in Swindon(Highworth)) to be reasonable. There is also David Hendry at Malmesbury.

 

I'm still going to Tileys of Bristol (0117 923 1231) for all my servicing and MOT's..

Phil, the service boss, is excellent, always helpful and explains stuff too, although the prices are obviously at main dealer levels.

 

Cheers for the replys, only prob ive got is its an import, the swindon dealer wouldnt even sell me a gasket for it!!

Tileys will do an import,found them great.Phil and Dave know there stuff.

 

Get most of my servicing for my import done by my local garage just North of Bristol - Lockleaze

The cars are fairly simple to work on so just about anyone can do the work!!!!

If you are really concerned then go to somewhere like Powerstation in Cheltenham that work on modified sports cars all day long........

Tileys are good for imports - but a bit weird - my car is an sti5 which is the same as a P1 - they want the chassis number for the import or P1 to get the part - not unsurprusingly the part no's and prices are the same........... although I had to ask a Main Dealer in Yorkshire - who had no gripes about quoting me prices on a P1 without a chassis number (I initially expected this to be a scam - i.e try and get more money for import parts - but so far they've quoted the same - so OK)

Now if anyone can find somewhere that can get Scoob parts at a discount - that would be good - i.e. original scoob parts!

 

i wouldn't take my car to tileys...

David Hendry cars are good, so are http://www.subaru4you.co.uk (if you dont mind the 1h.20min drive to em )

There is also a subaru garage in Wotton-Under-Edge who are meant to be good too..

 

Had a new g/box and uprated clutch from tileys,so they arnt that bad!! LOL FOR FREE!!!

Wottons Under Edge is a very small concern - but yeah they specialise in Scoobs/isuzus? - arent they a very small main dealer?

Dont go to internovice whatever you do!!!!.........

Hendry's are meant to be good in Malmsebury - but I remember that the prices are similar to main dealers - that said every time I tried them I had about a 3 week wait to use them so went elsewhere
