I went 5 days with the standard tape deck, not that i even turned it on but i needed to listen to sum cds!!! altho not till im out of second gear!!!

Couldnt do with that cheap $hit philips head unit, changed it for a JVC Chameleon CD Head unit with 12 disc multichanger JBL custom door speakers and am about to fit 6x9's on the parcelshelf (well get some-else to)

Alpine cd headunit, 6 disk multichanger, 6" componants in front doors, 1x1200watt mono amp, 1x300watt amp and 2x12"x1000watt subs.for now anyway......

No stereo in mine thanks to the theiving ******* from Hyundai Merchant Marine; even skanked the cassette out of the multi-changer. If anyones got a Kenwood double-DIN that works.....

Did you know that if that happened to the ferry bringing 'your' (used) car from Japan then the shipping company can force you to pay a share of the salvage costs for the vessel?

how easy is it to replace the standard unit, and is it safe from thieves? On my test drive I noticed it was a huge 2DIN monster, but didn't ask if it was removable or anything.

sony 10 disc changer with the flip head unit turns black when power is off so looks like theres nothing there and i have a remote how lazy

DIY on my old type r:

2 x alpine 6.5" components (front and rear)
2 x alpine 12" subs
2 x legacy 890 amps 4 channels (cheap and chrome body doubles as mirror)to run the above
clarion cd with 12 disc changer

and a very messy wiring diagram. aahhh.... those were the days.

Just the standard old subaru wireless 4 me, cant see the point of getting a nice one 2 have some b@stard nick it, nicked systems are a big thing round my way!

I was going to reply to this post and say what system ive got in the car but to be honest i realy cant remember ???
This is the only car ive ever owned that i dont listen to the radio in, i realy do love just listening to the sound on the flat 4 uneven beat....thats the reason I bought an Impreza in the first place

If only i liked smaller cars,i woud'nt ave 2 spend so much on the sound sys!got a sierra saph cosworth at the mo with a 1200 w lagacy amp pioneer 6x9 in the parcel and custom built 6x9 in the doors..ohh and a 15inch 800 watt raptor in da boot!and yet it doesn't sound as good as my mates sys in he's fiesta si even tho he's only got a 500 watt sub and 6x9 and a cheap n nasty boss low watt amp......pi$$es me off..lol.. still...wen i get me scoob i get 2 listen 2 da burbly zorst!

I'm quite happy with my standard subaru sound system. (03)


Sorry, I can't say that with a straight face! It can best be described as "OK". I find myself turning it on/off/on/off when I'm driving normally. Off for the fast bits.
Good to hear what others have, maybe someday I'll get around to upgrading.
