Hi , my mates PC crashed so i done a format using XP Pro as i have done many times in the past , prob is it took forever to format 8 hours all in where as per norm on a fast NTFS it takes 40 mins max , even booting up takes 10 times longer now ? anyway .....Task manager showing that its EXE is using 55% ?? .. temp of the CPU is average but the cpu is jumping from 15% usage to 100% like a yo yo ?.......HELP is all i can say .

You say you reformatted his hard drive ??
The C drive (system drive) ??
If it was the C; what method did you use ??
