Question

If so, I'd much appreciate your help.

We're testing a new bit of software which helps you turn round RFPs really quickly - looks pretty good. It does this by interrogating an Access database which has been populated which other responses - all Word documents. We've just completed 2 blinding responses which I'd like to add to the database but don't have a clue how to do it. I'm supposed to submit a request to the US to get it done which'll take forever so I'd rather do it myself.

All I do know is that the information in this database is held in 'Tables' under the 'Objects' tab. Any ideas on how to get these new responses in?

Cheers
Kav

Can you access the database menu with the tables tab on it? Or as the database been locked down for access.

Does one of the entries under the table tab have a name of responses or something like tbl_responses ?

If so can you double click on it. This will give you a spreadsheet like view. Can you relate to the data displayed ?

Wink

Yes - it's called 'Answers' and like you said, double-click on it and you get something like a spreadsheet. I can relate to the info in there but how on earth do you import it?

Cheers mate

It all depends ....

You could add a new row with the information you want. Use the >* next to record at the bottom of the spreadsheet screen.

It all depends on how it has been coded will determine wether the data will be seen. If the are any keys or related tables id in the columns they will need the correct values entering. They may have created a 1 to 1 relationship with another table. These are a bit more difficult to answer without seeing the database.

OK mate - appreciate your input. I think I'd better leave it to due process.
