Right, as title really... Interested in maybe buying a circa 93 WRX for myself and one has come up with a Lambdalink and Knocklink. I am technically dumb so please no huge technical explanation of these!!

Just need to know if these are essential, and what they do!!

MODS - this is probably the wrong place but trying to get a quick responce so could you leave here for 12 hrs... Thanks!!

Thanks in advance!!

Cheers,
Grant

LOL @ Moving Keys!!

Thanks for the info mate, I like the thought of being able to monitor the engine like that...

However, they do look pretty big and crap on the dash IMO, but suppose if it prevents the engine going t!ts up, then they are worth it!!

Cheers,
Grant

There are a few brave soles who take their "links" to bits and insert the leds where ever they fancy without the big fat box.
I'm not brave, so i have a big fat box

When it comes to cars, I am brave when driving, however trying to do stuff like that.... Nope, not thanks, I'll just put up with it the way it is!!

Also, any idea how much extra it will cost to insure a WRX than a UK Turbo...

Got an RS Turbo at the moment, and the Standard UK Turbo was cheaper to insure!!

Cheers,
Grant

The knocklink design could be a lot better, but it doesn't look too bad

Remember you don't need group buys to get these cheaper and you'll save Frank (M0ney) some work.

Knocklink is a visual indication via a row of LEDS of detenation, detected by a sensor bolted to the engine block.
Lambdalink is again visual indication via LEDs of fuel/air ratio taken from the lambda sensor, is only giving useful info when accelerating hard when ECU is using mapped parameters to run the engine.
Both are a good thing to have fitted especially on an import if it hasn't been remapped for UK fuels.

Edited because i've had a few beers and someone seems to have moved the letters around on the keyboard!!!
