My step brother bought a 02 model from them and had terrible service and lots of problems with his car. Same story from another friend. Could be isolated cases but when it comes time for me to change I'll be avoiding them. The only problem for you guys in Lancashire is where else can you go in the area?

Last time I looked the white rose belonged to a county other than Lancashire!

Still that's one good experience to counterbalance the bad- try a search on the board

Here's a couple of threads I found, mixed reports although there seem to be more bad than good, always the way people post when they feel they've been ripped off

Make up your own mind based on this, personally the bad reports I've had mean I would never use them

My girlfriend bought a 99 Turbo from Gibsons when they where still official UK dealers, she had a few problems.

Also worth checking before you order/buy any import where the car comes from, most of the cheaper ones seem to be from Cyprus - UK dealers won't work on cars from Cyprus.

I imported a MY02 WRX from Belgium through Keyring Cars with no problems.

read Edwards link- that's made my mind up Gibsons will never see any of my money.

I'll be mailing this to some of my Subaru owning friends who live in and around the area as well. Sounds well dodgy.

Got my MY01 from Gibsons. Arrived before time and was just like buying from a "normal" dealer.

LOL

I love our buddies over on the other side of the hill!

Well I do now I'm living in France!

Still pop back regularly to Lancashire though and even though I live nr the Pyrenees I still don't think you can beat the Pennines for sheer beauty.

I bought my MY01 back in 2001 which they imported from Holland. No issues always taken my car to them for service with no problems, even had PPP fitted there as well. They had a nice STi 8 JDM in there a month or so ago, circa £28k though!
