Subaru's "new age 22B!!!"
Hi everyone.
The following has been lifted from the new issue of evo magazine (issue 58). The news of a new 22B type project may have already done the rounds, but this is the first I've heard of it....
"Subaru is preparing to unleash the most extreme version of the Impreza ever seen on the road. According to reports from Japan, the company is preparing a limited edition road-going version of it's World Rally Car and the model could be in Japanese showrooms by the end of the year.
The car will be hand built by Subaru's Isesaki studio...and could be the first of a number of limited edition Subarus as Isesaki is planning to concentrate on low volume production models." evo magazine, issue 58.
Regards
Kev

Not this again... :|
That illustration is a Photoshopped version of Prodrive's 03 WRC launch pics, and it's not particularly well done. Note the low co-driver's seat, and the roll cage they forgot to brush out behind the offside A-pillar.
While the "new 22B" project is probably accurate, this picture isn't the sneak preview it purports to be.

There's a small thumbnail of an Impreza just above the evo report. Looks just like an un-stickered WRC, which is probably what it is (smaller rear wing than STi, Bonnet vent in front of scoop, Carbon Fibre wing mirrors)

not sure that looks like a airbrushed wrc car to me, look at the seat positions and where the roll cage used to be in line with the back window.
and the wheels look at strange angles looks like a tarmac offset maybe ready for the first round at Monaco ???.
does autoexpress have a good histroy at getting stuff like this right ??.

Camber of the front wheels also kind of gives it away.
Looking forward to some official pics, though I don't think it can better the original 22B for drama and presence. They broke the mould after that one.
