Question

With it having the DCCD and the 2.5 engine has anyone in the UK got a US STI. It would be nice to have the toys and bigger engine of the US car as a starting point, my only concern would have to be it being a left hooker. Maybe this is not that much of a problem, or you could convert one to RHD. Anyone got one and done this or looked into it?

no one has one in the UK, it's only just come out in the USA and has a waiting list.

How's about the JDM one with DCCD and twin-scroll turbo? OK it ain't a 2.5 but the twin-scroll is supposed to be pretty good and it's a hellava lot easier than converting LHD->RHD.

There probably is one kicking around Prodrive/IM somewhere for evaluation purposes, but I very much doubt if anyone has imported one into the UK yet.

I believe you could order the engine though:

I think the JDM STi is just as good. The character of the 2.0 twin-scroll will suit the car more. Also, I think the JDM car is lighter than the US car.

i've got the jap spec 2 litre with dccd. was driving with the dccd on in an indoor car park. turning slow and sharp corners as you do in these places there was this sudden loud thudding and I thought schitt wtf is wrong with my new car?? felt like there was a nova caught in the under carriage.... apparently you can't have the differential under these circumstances...real dumb...haven't used it since

You need to learn how to use the DCCD slacker, its not the car that is dumb, its you. But there is hope for you, it's called education. please read How to use the DCCD

The latest STi8 with the DCCD-A doesnt allow any transmition bind up, even in manual mode. Here is the control strategy for that system.
