Just wondered if I need a punch to do this, of it is possible without one, as I can't decide whether to do this at home or take it to my local garage?

Cool

It may well be considerably cheaper to buy a replacement hub from a breaker and replace the whole hub.

bugger, I have the bearing from GGR, and just assumed it would be fairly easy to do! My dad is a mechanic, so if it needs a punch etc, he knows places where I can get it done for pretty much nowt!

I have also replaced a wheel bearing on my Type R. I just got a garage on the industrial park where i work to change it as this was handy for me.

They said it took a little while to do but not sure the method they used to get it in and out but other places I phoned said it normally takes couple of hours and would cost £90 to fit! I got mine done for £50

P.S. Were you coming out of a car park oposite Cardinal Park in Ipswich on Friday about 5:30ish? Saw blue type r as I came round corner.

'twas me, you had an evo behind you? Car looks great!
Had to get some bits for the house (bloody DIY)

Decided to keep it now? I know you were looking at getting rid as you now do more miles? I assume you no longer work at barham then?

Yea that’s right had evo behind me, just where they belong

What zorst you got on yours as it sounded great when you pulled away. Looked good too!

Na I am still going to be selling it Just waiting to find someone who has Toyo tyres in stock, as it needs two new ones, plus two very small "car park" dings I wanna get sorted before I advertise it.

Still doing more miles (to girl friends in Luton!) thinking of getting Civic Type R or maybe a BMW not sure yet.

Oh and I still work in Claydon, unfortunately!!

Yes as Moray suggested, I have done this a couple of times as well as replacing them with new oem and last no different, the hub complete from the wrecker was cheaper and less effort.
