Has anyone tried these new federal SS595 tyres yet, carnt seam to find any reviwes of info on them

I've just ordered them 2 days ago, and they arrived tonight.

Am fitting 2 tomorrow afternoon..so will let you know whether they are crap or not late rin the weekend after I've tested them!!

Just had them fitted, balanced and the tracking done.
No wobble at high speed (unlike my Toyo's which had to be re-done 3 times).
No more noise (less I reckon) then the Toyo's or Bridgestones.

They feel at least as responsive, if not better, than the Toyos although this may be due to the tracking being +2.5 toe out
They feel more consistent in the corner, as the toyos seemed to require adjustment mid corner..these seem to stick and stay..

So far I reckon they are a bargain. They feel good round corners at both low and high speed although I'm not in the habit of going to the absolute limits of adhesion...

For comparison:

The tyre wear no. means the lower the number the less distance they will last.

AA is better than A..

I'm extremely happy with the tyres at the mo, but obvisouly cannot tell now what they'll be like in the wet (it's actually dry today in Lancashire) or after they start to wear. i.e. will they tramline like the bridgestones.

I have got 2 more spare, and am glad I bought them at present.

I guess unless you do track days or are extremely harsh on your car you won't feel the difference to Toyos e.t.c.

£55 inc VAT.

For 4 it was £220 plus £14 delivery...came within 2 days as well.

Been throwing it into roundabouts tonight and they seem fine,..slight understeer controlled by lifting slightly

I can't justify paying at least double that for toyo's which don't seem any better and certainly not Bridgestones.

As I said I haven't tried them in the wet yet but in the dry I am well pleased for the price.

which federal tyre Ref did you order, whats the difference

 

I ordered the 17" ones ref: 2154517, which means 215/45/17.

The different references are the different tyre sizes..

I tried them last night on the M'way and they were fine.

It's pouring down today so I shall go and test them in the wet

 

I was desperate to get some this weekend but after ringing around i couldn't get hold of any, I wish I had ordered them last week. I gave in to temptation and ended up getting two avon ZZ3 at £100 a piece!!! for the front. Had them up to 37 psi with 34 psi at the back on brigestone so2's, took it out in the wet and they were grate. But i do have a rear adustable whiteline antiroll bar with uprated drop links and P1 front drop links which makes a massive improvement. less understeer and better turn in.

 

Starting to think about replacements for my 02 WRX, inside edge has just about gone.

Quite like the look of these Federal's - and a great price, an order for 4 about to be placed I think.

Tony_W - you had no trouble getting a local tyre dealer to fit tyres you provided them with?
