You sure you got the right part as I have an MY99 and the part number is different (22794AA010 Meter CP-Air Flow) and I only paid £72.18 inc VAT from a subaru dealer.

The MAF sensor is located in the center of the large pipe that goes to the air box. Unplug the connector on the MAF and undo the torq screws and pull the sensor out (it can be quite hard so keep trying untill it's out) and fit the new one in. Screw the Torq screws back in and plug the connector back on top of the new sensor and the job is done!

Morning All,

I have just bought a new MAF sensor for my MY99 UK Impreza Turbo.

The part number was 22794AA100, and the cost was £117.50 inc VAT.

I would like to fit the part myself but know absolutely NOWT about cars!

Apparently the MAF fits in just behind the air box?, bit that is all I know at the moment.

How easy is it to fit the New sensor, and does anybody have any photos, or is it that easy that you could describe to me in a few sentences how its done?

Good thing you replied, I immediately rang Power Engineering who checked the part number and the number ending in 100 is a labda sensor!

He quickly changed the part and the price £75 + vat, and hopefully it will be with me tomorow.

Subaru dealer charged me only £72.18 all in, and Power Engineering want £88.12. Why don't you get the part from your nearest dealer?

 

Need it for tomorow, and all of the local dealers to Newcastle dont hold stocks of the MAF!

The words Subaru Dealer & Fast & Efficient Service dont go together!

Hi there just fitted a new MAF sensor tonite no probs took 10 mins had to use a flat bladed screw driver to remove the old one otherwise easy. Good luck with yours any probs or if you want photos email me.
