Ne1 else got an HKS Knocking Monitor?

I had one of these fitted about 6 weeks ago, but the instructions are in Japanese, as is the CD that comes with it.
It seems to work fine, you can hear the pistons fine but I wouldnt know knocking from a loud f@rt. Will this thing light up if it's knocking, or do i have to drive 24/7 with ******* headphones on, listening.
