You could buy two, and then put the engine from the second one into the back of the first one. An engine per axle would be quite quick I'm sure. Kim Mathers did it with awful Sirrocco!

No I am not about to blow 15k on the car. It just struck me that someone with 30 k to spend would have the option of a P1 or spend a shed load on a Dutch import and get close to the performance - maybe? I just wondered what members thoughts on this were.

Brooks,
Personally I would buy an import and upgrade. In this way I could personalize the car more for my taste.
In my case this would mean a standard 5 door with a burger van on the back

Brooks,
Take cover. Just got roasted for suggesting similar in EVO6vP1 thread.
Seriously though I agree totally with Mike T (and he should know)
Forget the resale value. You get the car you want, not the one they want to sell. For example, 4/5 doors, choice of colour etc
P1's haven't been on the road a month yet and the Prodrive demonstrator has already got a £1500 brake upgrade (on a £32K car for chrissake !)

The brake upgrade is fitted by chioce and I quote "OH we put it on because we want to test some of the Prodrive upgrades, thats why the backbox is on to"
Prodrives own words.
Lets face it they are in the buisness of selling things too.

Arron,
Don't get me wrong I have ru Prodrive upgrades in the past, and they are generally excellent. In fact I still run their excellent backbox for the fantastic sound.
They sell the P1 as "the ultimate Impreza" and proceed to offer upgrades. More ultimate is the same as more perfect; can't be done.
Obviously the short drive I had of my dealers demo car was nowhere near as comprehensive as yours but it was enough to make it obvious the P1 is a very fine car and a noticeable step forward from the standard car.
All I have been saying in the couple of threads where we have crossed is that there are other ways to achieve this kind of performance and tailor the car exactly to your requirements. If spending money on my car improves the driving experience for me then that is the only return I need on my investment.
If you do buy, enjoy. I imagine it would be hard not to !
Regards, John
