..and I have to say how disappointed I was not to see any Impreza'a in France, Belguim or Holland Though did have some fun with some Parisians in an Outback

Are Subaru not so hot in mainland Europe then?

Wink

My favourite drive was coming back into Gent on the two lane motorways. We were patiently waiting for an Audi in front to pull back in when a big Merc comes up our bumper flashing his lights As soon as the Audi pulls in, into 4th, bury the loud one in the shagpile and bye-bye Merc

Must have been quite embarrasing for him as I don't even have a scoop

I drove to Portugal last week covered 3000 ish miles and saw 1 Impreza in Lagos and an Outback in France. That was it! THe Impreza really is pretty rare on the continent compared to the UK. I saw 4 in the space of a 100 ish miles when I returned

Drove to Italy and back in my STi7 on holiday last summer (spread over two weeks and drove about 4000 miles in total). Only saw 2 scoobs the whole trip, and only one of them waved....

Main problem in Belgium is still registration tax, 5000 euros on a new Impreza turbo. Considering how 'cheap' the car is..., you know what I mean ;-) that's a lot of money just to give away to the government. What kind of registration cost is there in the UK?
Second problem is the lack of dealerships.
Subaru does get good reviews everytime on TV though.

(sorry couldn't meet up with you Festa)

Thumbs up

Yep, they get the sort of attention over there that they USED TO here 5 years ago:
Having said that, last time I was over, the kids came back from the local watering hole to tell me there was a newish one that looked like it had been done up.
I went down for a look, and spent half an hour talking to the guy. He had about 300bhp from a STi7, can't remember what he'd changed, but it was quite a bit.
