Q ,
If the VF29 can make 320 flywheel hp at 1,3bar tappering to 1,2bar at 7000/rpm,(with all the right parts)

Will the TD05 front entry make more power at the same boost level?????.

Depends primarily on charge temperature and exhaust gas back pressure.

Charge temperature will depend on heatsoak and compressor discharge temperature.

There is little data on EGBP, but my feeling is that the TD05H hot side is more efficient than the VF29's.

You may get a little more at the same boost from lower charge temp and lower EGBP, but the largest gains when you use a larger turbo are when you were running the previous one outside its hot and cold side efficiency zones.

 

VF29 is very similar compressor BTW.

I assumed (incorrectly) 100% VE for these on an EJ20. Just to give you an idea. You could plot the same over a TD05 compressor map and work out the compressor efficiency there.

Then you need to put in some assumptions about intercooler density recovery.

Well i have just ordered a TD05 from Mark , and i´m getting a costum frontmount made this weekend ,so now i´m just waiting fore the injectors from phase2.
