Any recommendations for suppliers etc? Have up to 30/month to spend. Currently considering pipex, plus.net & zen.

Also recommendations for hardware setup - ideally like to have wireless, and a card in my laptop, so I can work from anywhere in the house.. one laptop, plus (possibly) some sort of server going on it...

Cheers,
Mark.

Hello

I use Zen and I am extremely happy with their service. You also get 8 free IP addresses, if that is of interest.

Steve.

No fix IP address. (No problem for me.)
Email service was a bit shaky about a month ago.

At the risk of getting laughed off, what are the implications of static / dynamic ip assignment for me?

I understand the difference, and if I think, should understand what difference it makes to me as a consumer, but...

Cheers!

If you want to run your own web/mailgames server, or indeed want the capability for your machine to be easily accessible for any reason then having a fixed IP is useful. In saying that, websites like DNS2GO and DynDNS provide the same functionality for those of us without ISP provided fixed IPs.
