Anyone got any info on a Legacy RS? I have been offered a 1989 model for £3400. Seems a lot for a 1989 car, but it is pretty faultless, 88000 KMs. Anyone know how much it differs from a UK Legacy turbo?

Cool

I have only ever seen one, & as far as I could tell the only differences between it & my 93 Uk Legacy were, the cup-holder, Air-con & the puny exhaust (on the RS)

would not pay that for an import, when you can have a uk 93 turbo for around 1k less! plus cheaper to insure a uk model.

The cup holder does it for me!
It also has a Blitz stainless exhaust & Blitz induction kit. The owner reckons standard they give 220, and should be around 230 with these mods. I can't find any info on this model on the internet except for some dodgy go-nowhere links.

220!!!!!!

The Liberty RS (in aus) which I assume is the same spec was significantly less powerful at 180bhp. It had a smaller turbo, worse exhaust and no intercooler/chargecooler iirc.

Got an insurance quote and still catching my breath! £970 TPFT !!! And I'm an Old Git too! My Impreza was only £500 FC! Maybe I'll get another, or a fiesta pop plus.

I don't think it is the same car as the Liberty RS sold in Oz etc. I did find a little info on it to support the 220 claim.

But still not worth it just on the insurance SCAM alone.

Think I'll set up an insurance company and make loads of money doing F.. all, ripping decent honest motorists off. I mean, 970 quid, what's THAT all about?

Hey Guys,
Sorry but this is wrong. I am (unfortunately) a geordie by birth but am now living in Perth Western Australia. I have a modified Liberty RS 1992. I did come with a water to air intercooler, a IHI VF12 turbo which is now a td05h.

this is a great site for liberty/legacy info
