I bought mine in Nov 2001 after owning a highly modified 'scort rs turbo which, to be fair was pretty reliable. I swore I would never need to modify my new Scooby as it was adequately supplied with horses and looks......but...........

You need to change the back box to get the real Scooby sound that makes your rib cage vibrate.....Cone filter to help it breath and an atmosheric dumper to scare little old ladies.....

It's just a bug you contract and the only medicine is to mod...

Cool

Mines standard too. Hey, it's nothing to be ashamed of, how can you improve on perfection (IMHO)?

Lexus lights
Lower it until it handles like poo, rubs the arches, and you can no longer go over speed humps
More gauges than a Boeing 747
Paint wheels gold
Dump Valve

Let me know if you want any more help

Well bigger alloys look better, the PPP adds the grunt you need, the brake upgrade is a must, gauges make you see what your cars doing, need i go on?

I tell you, its dangerous - mingling with the likes of you lots! So damn expensive... I think I will be getting a nice burbly exhaust at some point, perhaps when I decide I need a new car - it's a lot cheaper...

Till then, I'll have to stand (nearly) alone... and dream of a bored out 2.5 with some crazed turbo, 6-pot brakes, link ecu, adjustable suspenders, water cooled I/C, racing harnesses... dammit.

Beware of the little voices

They start with such simple obvious, necessary things and when you give in the first time, you're on that slippery slope towards hybrid turbos, front mount ICs and big engines.

Not alone

Apart from 3.5K or so of remedial work to get rid of piston slap and make sure it dont come back, nothing done.
Got an MY98 STi4 does 300 bhp straight off no mods for raising bhp.
Might get it remapped to run on straight 98 ron, but that would be all.
I've had a few Jap import "performance" cars, RX7, Supra, GT4, and apart from safety mod's never tweeked them.

If you fit a front-mounted I/C, do you bin the top mounted one. If so, what goes under the scoop?

SiPie,

Understeer soon becomes oversteer in the right (wrong) hands. The quieter peeshooter zausts help hide the fact that you've just missed a gear when trying to out drag a spotty puffer jacket wearing teenage moded XR2 owner off the lights... ;-)

TimboMY03 - sensible me, LOL
