Question

I'm going to take the plunge and order a new decat downpipe this week coming. I've finally decided to go for an open neck one after all the searching and what not (wanted a BPM twin but too much!).

So now I find there are 3 makes, which one is better for me? I want more noise if I can, it'll be going on a HKS Hiper mid and backbox. So once again, criteria are....

1). 3" bore right through.
2). Loud.
3). Must mate up to a HKS system.
4). Don't really want to cut the heat shield but will lag pipe anyway if I need to leave the hs off.

Any advice greatly appriciated..

The old scoobysport (H&S) 3 inch open neck downpipes are brilliant.

Had one on my scoob. Got one for sale if yours is a bugeye.

Thumbs up

I had a H+S 3" fitted yesterday to the 22B. Come down and have a look if you like?

It's going to go on a P1 but not until a TEK3 remap, just getting the parts together, this and the APS air intake from JWRacing.

Cheers for the offer Tim but i think you're about 1 1/2 hrs drive away from me. I'm based in Rugby.

Originally thought the H&S one as well, just wondered if the other options were worth thinking about. Didn't even know TSL did one, I'll take a quick peek at that to.

Have you considered a HKS downpipe?? They are at a good price as well.

Cheers BL, but I've just sold a HKS downpipe to make way for a less restrictive one for the amount of power gain I require

Oh my HKS was a 3" straight through downpipe, what's a HKS Hi Flow Downpipe? Says it's duel entry?

hiya m8,

I had a scoobysport (H&S) old style one.. very nice, loud and some good power.. (plus helped my p1 get approx 320bhp with Tek3,aps induction, full decat)

one word of warning though, is make sure whichever downpipe you get, make sure it has the "o" ring/flange where it connects to the centre pipe, I had a problem with mine, and had to get a new "o" ring fitted by PE.. oh yes, their downpipe is highly rated too (part of the T75 kit no connections to PE, other than a satisfied customer..

cheers

Tin
