caz,
i think my layout is a bit different, coz where it should be in your picture, i've got a dump valve mounted to the intercooler.
i've read a couple of threads about spraying carb cleaner into the pipe that leads to the sensor, i think i've found the pipe ...
It is a rubber tube from the rubber inlet trunking that then joins a metal pipe that runs across the front of the engine, behind the alternator etc.
i presume it then goes off to the idle valve which i think is underneath on the rhs of my intercooler
anyone confirm this ?

idle control valve as u look from the front is on right hand side of the throttle body(opposite side to the throttle cable)what are the symptoms of the uneven idle as it could be ur lamda sensor.does it do it all the time or when warm or when cold

cheers for the reply
it only does it when warm, i initially thought it was the MAF, so i changed it immediately (didn't want to risk it , with the reputation of these engines!)
i did an ecu reset and got an error code for the lambda sensor, so i've changed that as well !
the revs still rise and fall at idle, not enough to stall , but enough to get on my nerves !
i thought the only thing left was to clean the idle valve.

can anyone confirm which pipe i pull off ?
Is it the one on the lhs of the engine bay, not held on by any clips, that pulls off the inlet trunking ? I think this leads to the idle valve on the opp. side to the throttle linkage.
a picture would be really helpful
Iain.
