How to work out your Mile Per Gallon?

my e36 m3 evo is getting 20.2 mpg round town....(incidently the OBC is showing 21mpg!-didnt realise that they are so accurate)

i don't bother, it's tooo depressing
generally i feel better when i've visited the petrol station 1 less time in a week
i'm doin about 3 petrol stops per week

i do 700+ miles a week = >2.5 tanks at ~20mpg. anyone fancy some of those free Shell tea mugs ?

not that i do it much but if yer missing this site when u get receipt just divide litres by 4.546 then divide miles dun on this quantity by the end of previous sum.
Then the sum of the square of the hypotenuse is equal ah 4get it

Don't need a website. 5.5 Miles per litre = 25 Miles per gallon (for mathematicians, 5 times 5 equals 25 - geddit??) and most normally forward-going non-thrashed Scoobs will get thereabouts.....

I thought there were 4.54 litres to the gallon.
5.5*4.54 = 24.97

5.5*4.5461 = 25.00355 mpg

then again you coudl use 4.54609
5.5*4.54609 = 25.003495mpg

I get about 22-24mpg on average, more on long motorway journeys, (if I'm being fairly sensible).

Ive got 16.8 litres of engines outside, with a further 9.4 ordered.
I now have in my favourites a "misery-ometer"
