Er, it may sound daft, but what part are you exactly on about?
I'm used to hearing different bits of an engine called some things, but you're certanly getting a few guessing, so without further explanation, cant help or advise.

Presume he means the squirters in the Phase I closed deck blocks which spray the underside of the piston crown? I am interested in the answer too.

Thanks Mark, mine are a little difficult to get at

As John says, Oil Squirters are basically jets that spray oil onto the undersides of the piston crowns for cooling purposes, more common than you would think, especially in diesel engines. Some manufacturers actually have oilways inside the piston itself...

I know the squirters on BMW M engines open at 2.5bar, if anything I would have thought the Scoob would be a little higher.?

From memory it's about 4 bar, however, we'll know for sure when Mark has tested them

Cheers,

Pat.
