C'mon guys,

This time last year this site was buzzing with people excitedly ordering and receiving their STi7s.

12 months on - are we happy with our '7's or are we trading up to an '8'?

If trading up what did you pay to IM for the priviledge? Are you miffed at the price reduction?

I am debating buying an '8' for around £4k or buying a PPP for £2k.

Must admit that PPP is winning at the moment. (So the wife says!)

Look forward to your comments!

Korky

If you can upgrade to an 8 for 4k that sounds a good deal - go for it!

I am happy with mine and like the STi8 but don't feel enough differences for me to warrent the change yet.

As this is not a new model but a revamp, I may just keep mine till the 3 years is up. Maybe a complete new model in MY05-6

I don't see that there is any reason to upgrade really (apart from the smaller steering wheel) and the mods I've done to my car already make it more how I want my car anyway.....

Keeping mine.
I feel there is little if any changes to the overall package.
Will get the 10/11, when twin-scroll turbo and 10,000rpm red line is standard.

Any STI without the PPP is gonna be crap if you ask me.
But I am happy with my 7.
Much better with a rear anti-roll bar set to max stiff.

Me and my bro are changing for the Sti 8.

Never really liked the V7 front, although admit the difference in the actual mechanics is not worthy of a change. Anyway for 5k i get a new steering wheel and a change of colour - so that can't be bad!

Keeping mine. Current plan to change when new model (2006) is on the way. Until then, I will enjoy the bugeye
And, to be honest, the 8th look to "massive" in the front and the wing is too big for my age

Was happy before but now with PPP fitted am even happier. STi8 changes to my mind are mainly cosmetic - most of the claimed changes are already on the STi7 e.g LSD front and back and 2.6 turns lock to lock. I'm happy with the 'bug eye' look anyway having got used to it - to the extent that my previous classic scoob was looking old.

The only thing which makes me think I might get an 8 is the PPP, someone was saying that on the 7 it uses a piggy back type ECU thingy (I don't know what all this means). But apparently the 8 uses something else I think it has TEK in the name. So my question is what's the difference and is it worth getting the 8 for that reason?

Seven is heaven. No plans to change...except for the spoiler, maybe a louder back box and tinted pimp windows and a roof vent.

Keeping mine.

Pete - the 8 PPP is AFAIK an ECUTEK remap. (Ecutek is the software that is used to remap the ECU. From conversations on this board, the 7 PPP will also now(or very shortly) be using this method.

So does that mean that people that have got the original PPP will get the new version for free on their 7. Also what's the difference why did they change it?

Cheers for the reply

Hmm, STi7 with UK300 lights, Pzero 18's and PPP - I'll stick with that until the warranty runs out and then see whether there's an STi with a 2.5 or 3.0 in it!

Too much hassle for too little gain STi7 to STi8 I reckon
