Ok all
lets see how long it took you all to get home this evening.

I work in st albans near Marshallswick, and its about 7 miles i normaly get back in about 20 mins.

It took me 2 hours nearly, really never came out of 1st gear, and roundabouts where a nightmare.

Left Uxbridge in rear wheel drive MR2 (MY03WRX on its way) at 4pm yesterday.

Got home Welwyn Garden City at 11.30pm

Not a happy bunny and some real w*****s in German make cars thinking that if they sit on your bumper tt will make the 4 miles of stationary of traffic in front of you go quicker.

You mean they drove for 4.5 hours rather than park up and walk for 30 minutes? Isn't fitness wonderful

My dads journey - from Luton to Rochester took him 10 hours

I finish work at 6pm, got home at 1am

All the cars were sliding around like mad, Scooby did her job, absolutely no problem even on ice hills

Left the office London to High Wycombe, normally takes 45 mins,M40 buggered up, so used the side roads, enjoyed the hills up with 4 wheel drive and second gear but didnt like the downhill sections.Like a big sledge but survived.Went through 1/2 a tank, 1 pack of cigarettes and my whole CD collection before getting home at 10:30-Three and 1/2 hours later. FUN...NOT
At least i made it not like those poor sods on the M11, still there this morning i believe.

I was a poor sod on the M11 all night ;(. Took me from 6 pm till 8.30 am to get from West Malling to Rushden.
I then have a spin within 5 miles of home and write a wheel off
I couldn't believe the state of the motorway, nor the crap travel info all night. It totally ignored what was happening on the M11. If it had said steer well clear then we wouldn't have had people just getting free now.

Question

Had to wait an extra 30 minutes for the train yesterday but the journey still only took 12 minutes.

Why can't they manage this when the weather is good?

no snow on isle of wight. blizzard yeterday lunchtime but never lays here - way to much coast.

it will lay heavy all over hampshire, but we rarely get any at all. if it lays at all, it is gone within a day.

as a small youth i was traumatised by pictures of other kids playing in snow on the local news - torture - i believe i wept on a number of occassions!

I didn't do to bad due to the fact I work very close to my mums. Tried once then went back for dinner. Two further tries then 1/2 hour in the pub. Finally left at about 10pm and did the 10 miles home by 11.45.

David

PS - Cheers Mum

Took my usual 40 mins for 20 miles in Staffs.

Only when I got out of the car at Leek did I find it slippy !

Must get better boots (on me feet !)

Got out of the car, next to a friend who has a 330ci with Traction control - He's always saying 'its better than AWD'. He'd crept in, warning lights flashing.....

'HA' I say !

Reckon we got off lightly, weather wise - Sorry for you poor overnighters !

I tried several times to leave and gave up, stayed in the office (Welwyn Garden City) until 5am and then drove home like a crab cos there were no cars anywhere (aint 4wd fun), I did say hi to a few motorists and get chatting to a fellow scoobynetter in the snow though when I tried thursday evening to get out of town.
