Legacy Turbo tuning options?
Possible forthcoming Legacy ownership beckons.. Let's hope she's as reliable as I've heard!
What sort of mods would you look at doing first (Brakes were my 1st thought, and have been told that Impreza gear bolts straight in)? Any suspension options or recomendations?
Don't want to go too mad, maybe just a touch more power (say 215/230bhp).
Also, anyone know how much servicing is on these, both Scoob main dealer and decent Specialist?
Cheers

How old?
Plenty of options to achieve the power you want. Pretty much same as Impreza. Induction kits, Exhaust de-cat, chipping, Dawes device, etc. See "General Techincal" or "Drivetrain" for more info.
Impreza four pot calipers and larger discs are indeed a bolt-on upgrade.

there are a number of legacy owners here, myself inluded.
not all that follows applies to twin turbo legacies.
I remapped my ecu, but a dawes valve can give good results for power in the 250hp region.
new discs and performance pads (same as pre 97 impreza), along with braided hoses and decent fluid give acceptable braking for really quite swift driving. If you get larger wheels (same fit as impreza) you can transplant impreza 4pot brakes, or get a whole brake kit.
suspension is more difficult due to the greater weigh over impreza, parts for the new age WRX ought to work well. coilover kits work too.
induction kits for 93-96 Imprezas will fit
Mongoose, scoobysport and Hayward & Scott do legacy exhaust parts (estate is the odd one I think). Downpipe at least is worthwhile.
You can fit newer impreza seats, i have some from a P1 in mine.
front anti roll bars will fit from impreza, rears are legacy specific, but still available.

Hi again,
Age of the Legacy would be MY93 - UK Turbo.
Would strut braces/panel filters from the Impreza fit the Legacy?
Like the idea of the Brake kit (upgrade to 4 pots) any ideas on how much dosh this would be for purchase and fitting, plus any recomended Scoob specialists in and around London who would do it?
Thanks again!

Steve, you should be able to get a pair of 4 pots with discs & pads from a breaker for £300, if you can't down there try Grade A on 01663 744114 they're in New Mills but do mail order. They are an easy job to fit yourself, I'm no expert but managed to do the pair in a couple of hours.
16" or 17" rims are a must, as is an exhaust, the change in the mid-range with a decent one is massive.
The other big must is a Prodrive brain if you can find one with the right connections.
Late Impreza chairs bolt straight in (which is strange coz they won't go straight into an early Impreza)
The only other mod I've done to mine is fit std MY00 struts all round (from a car having the Prodrive kit fitted), If you don't want to go to the expense of custom suspension these are a bargain at around £50 per corner & they make a massive difference to the handling.
