Hi folks,

Santa was good to me and I got a Scalectrix. It pits the New Age Scoob v Evo, and I am sorry to say the Evo is a much better car

I've tried and tried but still I cannot beat my wifey when she use the Evo.

I think what I need is a Classic Scoob to take on the Evo, any ideas where I can get one?

Well Trout spent DAYS working on the Subaru, to try and get it to grip as well as the Evo........

Finally discovered that the magnet in the EVO is stronger, so he switched them over. This improved the Scoob no end.

He still can't keep up with my Porche though

Mark.

I got a scoob to go on the existing scalextric. Its far and away quicker than any of the other cars (F1 or Le Mans) I have. It has a blinking great magnet to hold it to the track compared to the older cars I have.

So have a look at Scoobs you can buy on their own and see if its better than the "std" model in the boxed set.

Yes Tavia, I like your thinking, but I can't be doing with all that YAW control and other nonsense

Right, i am going to try a sly magnet change when no one is looking

What are the best online places to buy stuff, as the official website seems to be pants?

Before you google for scalextric sites - prepare yourself. You'll be shocked at how seriously some people take "slot-car" racing

More variations on Bump-Steer mods etc than on here.

The cars you buy off the shelf are much quicker than the cars you get in the kits. I recently bought myself last years scooby rally car and none of my other cars can keep up with it

Wink

I have a classic and a Bug Eye. Nice stuff.

Original Classic much lighter and even the PPP on the bug eye doesn't make it as good as the dual motor mod with the magnet off my old Infinity sub woofer on the "RS" Focus

Thumbs up

Guys, take a look at this thread: http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=161454

The current Scoob & Evo set is called Rally Sport and costs between 80 & 100 quid depending on where you shop.

There are a few of the classic shape cars available; from Scalextric, Ninco, Fly, and SCX (Spanish Scalextric). I've got three of the old (22B) style cars and they are nowhere near as good as the bug-eye Scalextric - unless you want loads of opposite lock fun!!

Have just bought myself a new Makinen Bug-eye from Auto-Art (who normally do diecast stuff) - it's got 4 wheel shaft drive (not rubber band like some) and is a much better model than the Scalextric. Quite a nice performer with realistic rally car transmission howl!!

I only got given my first Scalextric at the end of last year - it's addictive fun!

Cheers,
Steve
