Unhappy

Someone at work has just told me about his 2 month old WRX.

He parks on his drive overnight. Had been away for 2 weeks on hols, then came back a week ago.

Got woke up at 4 am the other morning to the sound of someone smashing his front door down. The gang grabbed his keys from a table and went straight back out to the Scoob, leaving the house alone.
He was shouting from the window...they turned round and said "We only want your car"..and off they went.

Apparently they must have watched the house and knew exactly what to do to open the door without setting off the house alarm e.t.c. It was smashed open by the bottom hinges and bent upwards.

Police say it must have been stolen to order. The morning in question, it was sleeting so Police Chopper couldn't get airborne. Police also say chance of him seeing his pride and joy again is almost zero.

At least he and his family were not harmed.

He lives in the Kirkham area of Preston/Lytham..

Just telling you all so you are extra vigilant. Don't want to cause you all sleepless nights.

Tony

Stu200,

He didn't have a tracker fitted.

The police think it was stolen to order...to use as a getaway, not for parts, I think.

do you reckon if he parked it on the road it would have been safe as they wouldn't know which house to break into?

Ted, if it was to order as said they'd have been keeping an eye out on the place for a while already so I don't think that would have helped.

i dont think it will ave them plates on it now there so easy to see another scooby the same in another area an get a copy set of plate made up then when the police do a pnc check on the stolen car it will come up as being not stolen but from were the unsuspecting other scooby driver lives. so realy its not just ur m8 there p***ing off its the other scooby diver as well but at least he still got his car.

would be better off telling us if there was sum distinctive featurs we could look out for...

this sort of thing was happening alot in wales but they were nicked to order but shiped to ireland,,,,,

Damn. That's very close to here.

What are people's thoughts about where they keep the car keys? Do people keep them out of the way or somewhere the *******s can find tem easilly in case of this sort of thing happening?

John.

Similar thing happened up here in West Yorkshire, neighbours daughter in law's brother.

Four guys followed him home, un be known to himself. Broke into house by kicking door down, (this was at tea time) demanded car keys, he refused to give up the keys, consequently they hit his girlfriend with a lump hammer, shattering her eye socket and fracturing her cheek bone.

When he handed the keys over, they stabbed him with a screwdriver.

Police have no clues as to the wherabouts of the gang or car as yet!!

Had my STI 2 weeks and then had an attempted break in. Had been taking my keys to bed religiously but forgot on this occasion. The bas***ds tried to enter our kitchen (where the keys were hanging) even though they could see our two dogs in there (the ones a fecking monster aswell). The dogs went ape and the apes went, treading in large amounts of monster dog log during their escape (in the yard, not our kitchen). SOCO actually photographed the footprints in the dog log! I was inpressed.......
