Isn't top end on the STi Type-R something like 130MPH...or am i mistaken? It has super short gearing or something, so i'd expect it to be a good 13 second car, at a guess!

your mistaken..!! an RA would probably be just under that speed but i think a type R is nearer 150-160mph on the newer models

nah, way too much bollox talked about gearing on RA's, the later versions have identical gearing to the TypeR, mine is good for 19.4MPH per 1000rpm, so 159MPH.

Cool

I had 160 MPH (on the clock) several occassions (and no problem !) this is the car flat out, bouncing off the limiter in fifth.
The car was a 98 R reg and had a scoobysport D/P and Blitz nur spec B/B and a forge to Atm. dump valve.
The car was seriously, seriously quick, I have a Sti 5, 4 door now which feels rather slow in comparisson !

Hope this helps,
Kev

I heard of STi Type R just squeeing into the 12's if slaughtered (goodbye gearbox!).

This months Jap mag has a P1 owner (about the same weightish?)quoting a 12.6secs@111mph with 320bhp, it does have a Motec though!

Looking forward to 26th January, I'll be there with the GtiRs and hoping for 12's if I go up.
