I had to claim on my insurance due to an accident which resulted in new quater panel for my P1.

It was repaired by the bodyshop and I got it back in friday. I have a in dash TV and Infinity speaker and was having prob's with thewm once I'd got the car back. Took it to my ICE dealer so they could sort and it turns out thats iron fillings have gone into the speakers and in the disc changer which has knackered them and also the TV has been damaged being re-wired! ALl this lot cost me £3000 to get put in a few months ago!

And.......... it also turns out that the boot has leaked water since the repair!

What the hell do I do - take it back to the body shop so they can **** it up some more?!?

I now have 3k worht of ICE thats fubar and a leaking boot with ****ty repairs on the qtr panel on the inside.

Advice PLEASE! Do i speak to my insurance co?!?

Not a very happy person

Definitely notify your insurance company ASAP and also ask them about the now damaged ICE. Ask them how you should deal with it, make it their problem, I'm sure they'll be only too keen not to pay out yet.

You were not to know at the time when you signed that all was not well. I would give them a call or go and see them. You never know they may sort it out for you.

I do know him so hoping he'll sort everything for me. He done extra spraying for me which wasn't covered under the claim and didn't ask me to pay but I'm just worried it's all going wrong.

Even considering selling it as is and buying another P1 with less miles on the clock :0

Repair garages are great aren't they :-)

Speaking from bitter experience: start documenting everything m8. Following your visit back to the garage - send em a letter to confirm your concerns/what's agreed. Keep it polite and stick to the facts. It'll help if you have to take matters 'further'.

Good luck in getting it sorted.

Turns out my ICE dealer knows the guy that repairs Subaru's for Scooby dealer in Maidenhead and he popped down to see it and just said ' worst job he's seen'

Hopefully I'll get this guy to sort it for me as he know's scooby's.

Your insurance should cover all the work anyway and bodyshops tend to offer a warranty on work too

The repair must be guaranteed, so the leaking boot should be no prob.
Before you rant on to the insurance Co. about the ICE - have you declared it all on your policy? If you haven't you could have a real fight on your hands! Those magnets in the speakers have sucked the particles like planets into a black hole!
It's another example of what I have always firmly believed - You can't fully trust ANYONE. Good luck mate.

I wouldn't have thought that not declaring the ice would be an issue. It's not like monster engine mods or anything.

Havn't posted an update on this saga so now's the time - THIS IS QUITE LONG

Car went to Lancaster Subaru to get wheel alignment over xmas and turned out part of the O/S/R suspension may need replacing. Also while I was there i got them to do a report on the car to asses the repair and this is the list they gave me -

Front bumper loose and poor paint work
Poor fitting of front spoiler
Poor paintwork on front spoiler & rear spoiler
O/S/R light out of alignment
Boot lid damaged on corners and out of alignment
O/S roof trim not fixed properly and damaged
O/S/R suspension needs replacing
O/S/R 1/4 panel fitted poorly, badly sealed and dented
Internal welds poor
Overspray on O/S of bonnet
Wing shut and front panel wrong colour
Waste moulding on O/S/F door damaged
Poor paintwork on O/S door

Basically everypart that has been re-sprayed has had a type of reaction and the paint is starting to bubble everywhere

The stereo has been stripped out today to be tested and new rear speakers are def needed.

Car is today back in body shop (his first day back since xmas - happy new year to him )for things to be done properly, along with suspension. Should have it back by next week with hopefully no cosmetic probs.

He's also agreed he'll sort whatever costs there are for stereo eqiup to be re-placed etc -

So in all hopefully (fingers very firmly crossed) it shold soon be back to it's best.

In 2 months since my wee accident, i've driven the thing twice.............. home from the bodyshop and back to the bodyshop!

Well, it's saved me loooooooooads on Optimax!
