0/1000 m : 26,1 sec, to compare with 25,6 for the 2002 Prodrive in the same mag;

Price 38 000 Euros

More noisy with the new face (wind noise)

All the perf measurements are significantly inferior to the 2002 Sti Prodrive

2 explanations : low mileage of the French car and "wind brake" resulting from the new face (air extractor) Sorry for my English but it is too late in the night to find the correct words in English.

I forgot the main information : the engine of the Sti 2003 is exactly the same than the 2002 engine; I guess the major part of you were aware of this but French owners of the 2002 sti were nervous on this point, it's clear now.

The sale price of the 2002 Sti were 36 000 euros, the 2002 sti prodrive price was 40500 Euros, the 2003 sti is between this (38000 euros).

The 2003 wrx price is increased : 30000 euros.

Some other figures, in kmh :

Sti 2003 / Sti 2002 Prodrive
1000mDA: 26.1/ 25.6s

reprises (translation ?):
90/130 en 3: 4.8 / 4.6
en 4: 5 / 4.5
en 5: 7.3 / 6.7
en 6: 14.9/ 11.8

Brakes:
90km/h: 33.2/ 32.1
130: 67.3/ 66.3
170: 112.5/108.8

Noise:
Stop: 48.4/ 44.7 db
50 kmh: 65.3/ 63.8
90: 70.3/ 69.8
130: 73.5/ 72.2
160: 75.8/ 75.5

The figures of the 2002 sti Prodrive are those of the last year with the same journalist.

the 2003 spec would be unmodified (engine and other specs).

Why compare an STI 2003 to a Prodrive 2002, it replaces the reg. 2002, I'm sure the 2003 will have a Prodrive version as well,
and I bet they heard the wind noise cause it didn't have the Prodrive exauhst system

According to coverage in Car and EVO magazines, there won't be a Prodrive version of the STi8.

Frenchie Soub, what magazine was this information in?

I think "reprises" translated is gear ratios?

More like "in gear acceleration" I'd say.

2003 STI will outside Japan have the same engine as 2002 STI
In Japan 2003 STi will have a redesigned engine, with a bit more power and a lot more torque. 2003 STI will in Japan be available in a Clubsport version lightened around 200 kg.
Info is from an Australien magazine, name is something like Four cyl. power cars. I have more details at home. But the Australien people regret that the updated 2003 STI will be reserved for japan.

Cool

Think I'll hold onto my STi7 prodrive for a little while longer. Still trying to establish if there will be any limited numbers built of the so called STi8 sport edition

reprises = in gear acceleration

The mag is Autojournal.

They test also the Wrx 2003 : they say that there is no difference of feeling with the MY 2002. Perfs seems the same.

The Sti 2003 is not a limited edtion. A lot of critics on the air noise and on the fact that at high speed, it seems that something will be broken (I cannot find the words in English, sorry, to explain that the "air system" will "break").

Hard to write in English technical comments, sorry again.

Surprised at the prices - I have ordered a 2003 STi from Belgium (delivery in March) for 28,652 Euros.
Is the differnce due to the tax you have to pay in Europe? With UK taxes etc added is works out at approx 34,000 Euros.

I wish Subaru / Prodrive would finally put to rest whether there is going to be a Prodrive power upgrade available. First there is, then there isn't,yes, no, yes, no ...... Latest in January's CAR magazine:
"To keep British punters satisfied, Subaru UK will offer a performance upgrade for the STi that takes power to just over 300bhp, as it does on the current car"

What is happening?

Simon
