I was wondering after just buying my second sport my01 last of the classics, how many turbo owners started with a sport?

Unhappy

Woz going to get a turbo but after looking at the pros & cons plus the wife uses it to commute all week, reluctantly decided to go for another sport.

Started with a MY97 Sport and thought long about the next step up, the Turbo.

In the end jumped two steps and went straight for an Evo

By lending me your turbo for a few months. I'll give it back, honest.

I've gone the other way (oo-eerr), turbo to sport, due to impending house buy, marriage (not the shot gun version!) etc..

Love the sport (or rather GX) to bits, miss the turbo for straight line thrills.. but I will get another one (turbo) when I've got a couple of things sorted.

Round the twisties near me I only loose out on the straights, albeit short straights...

I live in the Peak District so it's nearly all twisties one of the cons for not getting a turbo!

I have often driven the sport as loan cars and I can say going from a sport to a turbo can be likened to 'breathing fresh cool mountian air after a bad case of the flu!'
The sport is an ok car but it cannot realistically be considered in the same league as the real performance Subarus.
The sport however is the best car I have driven to date for high speeds over speedhumps.

Especially mine

Turbo suspension all round means it's got that little extra clearance at the front

potholes and speedhumps - pah

I got a Sport as a Company Car MY99 T (one of the early T plates)

had it just under 3 years put 120,000 miles on the clock, thoroughly enjoyed it, one of the best cars I had driven for handling etc

changed jobs and got a Golf Gti Turbo (petrol) not in the same league as the Sport (lower in my opinion, for driving)

now I have to get my own car, and bought a Turbo last week, loving every minute of it, and the Golf has started to grow grass on the window sills
