Syntrax, 75W-50.

That's for the UK classic cars, can't speak for others which might have different diffs such as new STI (suretrac).

Thanks Paul for the answer. Is that an actual Castrol oil? for the diffs etc as I know nothing about them.

Thanks again.

just did a search... older cars are 3.5litres and newer one 4lites...

And sorry when I said Catrol I meant Castrol

Halford sell it for 8.99 a litre I think but you can get it cheaper elsewhere.

Ther was talk of a Motul oil again 75W90 but I think Castrol Syntrax is used by most.. mind you this is gearbox..

Wheres the search.. hold on...

Diff..

Right me again..

you can use castrol syntrax in the rear diff too, same grade and it takes 0.8 to 0.9 litres.. also there was mention of Sikolene oils for gearbox and diff..

Personnaly I will be buying 5litres of Castrol Syntrax 75W90 and changing gearbox and rear diff when I get time..

Agree with JGM, Syntrax seems to be a good option; easy to get hold of although relatively expensive.

It does make a difference to the feel of the box. Always worth investing in decent quality lubes.

Think of it as an investment! OK it costs £40 to do the box and rear diff but it's not like engine oil which has to be changed every 3-5k... so it's a bargain

you need to make sure that you dont have an LSD in the rear or putting std oil in will not be healthy............

we run MILLERS OILS full synth 75w90 in g/box and 75w90LS in the rear diff (if LSD fitted!!)

Cool

Clint,

Rear diff is 0.8 to 0.9 litres...

Stockcar,

Which cars have LSD or how do you tell?
