The sunny weekend caused me to lower my drivers window on my MY00 4 door Turbo for a quickie through Epping Forest.

Great listening to the engine - not so great the annoying whistle as the air rushed past some part of the car.(wing mirror??)

A common problem or am I beginning to hear things?

Common problem from what I understand. I often find the wind noise pretty dreadful above 60mph especially.

(I'm sure Subaru were planning to look into why this happens, but were unable to hear the wind over the rattles of the interior! )

Wind rush ? A problem ? Either drive at less than 30 mph or remove the wing mirrors. Or you could REALLY wax/polish it smooth, to reduce aerodynamic drag.

Much better to fit a nice exhaust and drive with both rear windows half-way down!!!

Edward, would your car be the one I saw parked in Grove park a few weeks ago as I drove past? (Blue MY00)

Steve,

Yes, probably.(Vxxx MBL sourced from Lancasters)

I am now sporting a SIDC sticker and small Scooby Doo on rear headrest.(How sad I have become in such a short space of time.)

I saw a green turbo, turn into Grove Park from the High Street, a few weeks back - sounded like a Scoobysport exhaust aswell - was that you?

My first Scoobie did that - whistled from the back end - they never found the problem or didn't want to - drove me bonkers... sounded like bird twittering... sort of...closest description I can come up with.

but it only happened when the car had been running for 20/30 minutes... never did find out - someone did say it was the Turbo but who knows....didn't affect the drive...
