Intercooler Tilt Kit
In another thread there was a link to the Michael South Engineering website on which I noticed the
Intercooler Tilt Kit.
Anyone have any opinions about this?

I'll need to rig up something to measure intake temps. I was considering using a selection of spacers then you could experiment to find the optimum angle (not 90deg and just in front of the radiator thankyou)

Hmmm you saw this stuff too,
They did actually get some proper data when playing with the tilt and it was actually pretty good I think I recall an 8 C drop over stock doing laps when combined with a silicone inlet (better check that figure ). Has the side benefit of removing the necessity of a larger APS style TMIC with cast end tanks which tend to act like a Heatsink on the track.

The tilt kit only works on the pre01 wrx/sti and all GTforesters.
Spacers are 21mm& 13mm( turbo side) that also requirer longer bolts.
The rubber seals needs to be trimed 14mm at the rear and 5mm at the front blending in the sides.

I saw this and it's a cheap mod to do, so why not, eh?
I reckon you can bend the near side bracket so no need for a spacer. The turbo side may need a spacer though.
Instead of trimming the rubber seal, why not fold back and staple. That way you can revert it back to normal without having to buy a new one?
BTW you may need to redo your splitters (if you have them and you should) to match the new angle.

Floyd indeed I do have a splitter and was considering doing some temp measurements to assess the effectiveness of this also.
I don't see why the splitter would need modifying as this is inside the scoop and is there to ensure that some of the airflow gets to the front half of the intercooler.

I made this little mod over the weekend, looks pretty good. I've only taken it for a brief drive and couldn't feel any difference... but I've yet to set up a temp. gauge to see if it's had an effect. I suspect it would be more effective when the ambients are higher than our current 10 degrees.

I ended up going for a slightly greater lift at the rear about 28mm. At first I didn't bother cutting the rubber trim, I was hoping to staple it, but it creates a seal, on my MY97, around the outside of the rubber rather than the bottom edge. This means that the seal wouldn't be as tight if it was folded - so I cut it! Eight screws and the skirt came away from the bonnet which made the trimming much easier.
All of which took less than half an hour!

I ended up going for a slightly greater lift at the rear about 28mm. All this started because the New Age 'Prezas have a tilted I/C, which is why Michael (msgofaster) decided to try it on an OAP (Old Age Preza)
I'm still pi55ing about with temperature sensors (ambient, post filter, pre and post i/c should just about cover it

I've lost my digi camera - that's the flip side to buying a l'espion that's smaller than a credit card 
I've have another look, what would you want pictures of? The spacers for the IC would be easy but the rubber trim won't be very meaningful.
Top mod by the way, it cost me all of £1.19 ! (two new longer bolts)

The gains are very noticeable if you run more boost, on my sti i run 19 psi and it made a sh*t load, it also gives the air entry to the throttle body and better approach angle as the plenum is down from the throttle body. STD cars and STD boost you would be flat out to feel it.
