Should I go for a OE Oil filter or will one from Halford do?

Are their engine oil flushes anyone would recommend?

Cheers Paul

Oe filter. I'm told that many none Scoob filters don't have the same capacity, but don't quote me on this. They're around £11.

I may be wrong here but i dont think that an engine oil flush is advisable (esp for a turbo car) as all the subaru dealers ive been to just dump the old and let it drain then refill with new.

Paul, use a Subaru filter. This was debated at some length last year. Apparently it is a very good filter and any other will invalidate your warranty.

Hoppy

I have no warranty to worry about but ordered OE today so should see it by the weekend. I normaly use a OE filter and get it when the car is serviced, but wondered if I could save myself a trip to the dealers as I haven't one in stock.

Thanks for all the advice

Paul

Not a god idea to use an engine flush as it can loosen microscopic bits which can then wear the turbo bearings prematurely .

I just use the Halford's one. I can't tell the difference between that and OE version. Besides, I suspect that they're made by the same manufacturer anyway. Subaru don't make oil filters, they get a third party to do it.
