Question

Hi.

I have a Turbo 2000 MY99 'T' (UK) and am considering a de-cat / primary CAT bypass.

I currently have a Magnex 2nd Cat bypass (silenced) & back-box - can anyone recommend a good option for a de-cat downpipe?

Also, what would I need to do to pass an MOT?

I'm based near York - don't want to travel too far - does anyone know the nearest best place to try?

Thanks,
Darren

Hi,

Jap Innovations in Oldham do an open neck decat downpipe for less than £150 + VAT. Will free up plenty of BHP and give a lovely sound. They won't charge the earth to fit it either.

I've got them on both my cars. Love 'em!

Cheers

Hayward and Scott downpipe 3" reducing to 2.5" at the point where it meets the centre section(2nd cat) would best suit your current spec IMHO

Thats what i have on mine, although not for long as i am going to full 3" system.

Buy one here or look in the scoobynet shop.

MOT time it may get through as it is, but just replacing the standard centre should get it through no problem.

If your car is later than sept 92 then you MUST have a cat in order to pass the mot. However, just having a cat doens't mean you'll pass the emmissions test but you will fail instantly if you don't have one.

Can only comment on the downpipes I've tried - Mongoose (full system) and Midland Impreza DP. Mongoose is better but is sleeve fit onto their own full system. Both are twin dump designs.
