Is it worthwhile mentioning anything about insurance on that page?

Question

I may be wrong, but did I hear somewhere that if you used your car in a timed event it would invalidate your warenty??

Or am I talking c**P?

Hi All

IM have confirmed to me that your warrenty will indeed be effected if you take part.

This is the same rule that applies to track days and has nothing to do with the timing, etc.

Question

Hi Simon,

Are vegetarians catered for at the BBQ or is it carnivores only?

Assume I don't need a ticket for a one month old?

Vegitarian food (we're checking into that - apologies)

1 month olds are admited free of charge!

There is no charge for spectators, unless you want the BBQ, or to co-drive / passenger ride, etc.

Insurance :-
I'm meeting with Richard Egger (competition car insurance) this weekend to negotiate as low a rate as possible. Richard has also kindly offered his *huge* experience of this type of thing ih helping to lay out the course, etc to make it safe and fun.

Cheers

Sorry...

I forgot to say (I'll put this on the info page also)..

if you would prefer to pay by cheque through the post.. please send a cheque (payable to ScoobyNet Ltd) along with your order stating how many of each ticket you would like and *please include your email address* so we can contact you if we need any more info, etc to:-

ScoobyNet RallyX
PO BOX 5512
NORHTAMPTON
NN7 4FS

But.. we will only be able to accept the order at the point of opening it, if tickets are sold out in the mean time.

all the best

Simon

Owners of Jap and 1 yr old EU imports smiling at this point, I suspect

PS on a point of pedantry, I suspect you mean that the warranty will be Affected, which in practice will have pretty much the opposite effect of it being Effected...

(Where did Bamba G go, anyway?)

I think the warranty specifically refers to timed events and racing. Which I think is fair enough.

If you take the car on an airfield or track and drive it quickly, they must (and I believe will) honour the warranty. They say it can be driven quickly, heck they even quote a top speed and a 0-60 time in their literature/specs.

If it can't without being damaged then it is not of merchantable quality. ie. It is not suitable for the purpose based on which it is sold.

This is an enthusiasts event, no-one wants to take the mickey, so come on Subaru UK, set the record straight, and lets have it on here in writing.

I will add the following..

ScoobyNet will NOT pass on your details to IM or any other company except for valid legal reasons.

There is a strong chance the event will be featured in EVO magazine (to be confirmed) but number plates are not essential!

all the best

Sounds like a great day out. Just 1 thing......will the Jap cars have an advantage over the UKs with their rear drive bias?

good question...

in some ways they will, but in other no..

the lower the grip level, the less the transfer of weight under acceleration (and braking and cornering for that matter) so the less rear torque you need in relation to the front.

But.. the rear bias makes the car slightly more adjustable under power.

However, the softer cars should have an advantage also as they will find more grip and handling compliance over the slight bumps and undulations (sp?).

At the end of the day it isn't to be taken too seriously, as the main aim of the day is the fun aspect

all the best

Simon

In view of the warranty and 'abnormal use' issues, can we change the banner ad to 'Scoobynet Rally-X: It's not what your Scooby was built for' ?

Question

Simon,

Tried to book on-line, put my address details in, on the next screen I got:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e21'

Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors. Check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was done.

/rallyx/order.asp, line 155

I assume it did not record my intended purchase, should I try again?

BTW, is the limit just on the number of competitors, or the no bbqers as well?
Cheers

Question

Doh!

The other thing, I've already got stickers & flags on the rear side windows (thanks Salsa King) so I don't really need any (he says not wanting to have to try to get the existing ones off, just to replace them )

hi robertio

apologies. could you try it again please? please email me at simon@Scoobynet.co.uk if you still have problems.

the limited places does apply only to the competitors (and co-drivers to some extent)

don't worry about the stickers, we'll need to put a number on as well anyway.

all the best
