I was wondering if there was a site where I can download the patch to get my half life working as CS but without bing bounced from page to page and ending upwith Gator/GAIN spyware infiltrating my system, I tried the links to Game Spy on here and it seems i just get bounced about from page to page and registering, surely there is a simpler way???

Thanks scoob_dude, I'm queuing for my download, i assume when i finally download and open it will detect Half life and attach its self and i'll be able to play on line, excuse my ignorance, and thanks for the other link on the screen saver, much appreciated

Make sure you've patched your Half Life to the latest version too..

 

and once you've got it patched come along and get shot full of lead

 

I got mine off kazaa, hl1110.exe and csv15full.exe
If you have not already sorted it hope this helps.

I get 200KB/Sec on my 2MB Adsl at home, vrrrrrrrrrm

 

Thanks guys, I downloaded the CS 1.5full.exe yesterday evening and I will give it a go this afternoon when i get home from work, unless CMR3 pulls me away , no doubt there will be some tweaking required.

Were not all computer wizards u know , well ive loaded CS1.5 full and how do I load the server u suggest?? to be a member of the xsti, Ive registered.

When I search for a server they are coming up with a message saying they are using a different protocol, is this normal, or do some minor alterations have to be made to my set up.

wot u using to find servers....HL itself ?

i always found it much easier using Gamespy so suggest you grab a copy of that.

thinks its www.gamespy3d.com

you can then do an auto search for games servers and add ones you like to a cut down quicker 'favourites' listing.

then just double click on them to start and join the server

not seen the error you are mentioning though?

Its all working now, went to the sierra site and downloaded the latest CS and HL patches and the Protocol message has gone, I looked for the Xsti server but no joy, is it a case of copying and pasting the servers from the Xsti site??, and how do you get into the forums on sti? ive registered as "Comfortably Numb", and play as the same with a "newb" on the end so if u guys see me take it easy on the slaughterings, ive got a few maps to learn

excuse my nOObness but i put 212.42.10.250:27015 in at the top of gamespy under roomname. It loaded 648 rooms the two sti ones were locked with nobody in :S

 

You guys need to check out 80.69.6.100:27015 - Muppets CS 1.5 FF/ON

Great server, minimal cheats and some very funny people, example: The CT's were all singing "Kum By Ya" while playing cs_militia the other day (not that I had anything to do with that *cough*)
