Let me just say that the workmanship of the plate is second to none!

I had a bit of a special requirement and it looks top notch!

Being in the market for a new plate, you have mail Iain!

Cheers
Andy

OK chaps, I'll send details but please wait 'til tomorrow. The file I have here is corupt but I have a copy on disk at work. I'll send it first thing tomorrow. To summarise for anyone else that is interested, I make standard plates with the legal font, shortened plates (if you have less than 7 characters), custom size plates (imports, etc..), sticker plates (for bumper, bonnet, etc..) and motorcycle plates to any size but legal font only.
Have look here for a bit more info and examples <http://hometown.aol.co.uk/regplates/myhomepage/business.html>
Cheers for now

I must admit that as a "foreigner" I've never fully understood UK number plates with the letters, numbers and letters etc.
However the new system is even more confusing?

Is it really true that all UK number plates for the next six months have to contain 5:1 in the middle just to p!ss off the Germans?

Andy, did you get your sticker plate? It should have arrived on Saturday. Tried to e-mail you but got the note returned.

Question

Iain

What your understanding on the legaliy of sticker plates? Are they legal? After seeing a Scoob near me with one I must it looks a lot more agressive.

The law is quite vague on plate fitment and attitudes vary depending on your area. Basically, the plate must be visible within certain 'imaginary' parameters measured from the vehicle. I measured these out and put a magnetic plate on my car bonnet to check the visibility and I would say that on the Scoob they are OK if fitted as close to the bonnet edge as possible. I have made several 'sticker' plates and a couple of magnetic ones with no reported problems. I would suggest that if you do fit one, to carry the old perspex one in the boot and offer to fit it straight away should you get stopped. When testing my magnetic plate I passed a police car that was parked up and they seemed to take a good look at the car but didn't move.
Should you need any plates just remember my other e-mail - regplates@aol.com - very easy to remember in future!

Cheers m8, Got the mail. Don't know where the other one went though?

Can you make ones that peel on and off for track days?

I can make magnetic ones. These are the only way I have found to quickly swap between a road and track plate. They are a bit expensive though - around £18 each! Sorry. But a track one doesn't have to be reflective so they are about £10 each.

I need a smaller, square plate for my car - I dont have any fixign points at all though at the front as it was all recently chopped off following the fitment of a front mounted intercooler. I need one ala Evo cars...

I guess its fairly easy to attach them. Currently front number plate is on dash..

It would be interesting to see how the courts would now view the legality of front number plates... under the Human Rights act...if a bike does'nt need front plates I dont see how a car not having them as well can win in a court of law...
