A tricky one to value in light of the high mileage, and large number of euro-imports flowing in for approx 15500GBP new.
Why not phone up several dealers posing as a seller, and see what they say? If the car is your lease car, you could even drive it around to a few.
You also have to ask yourself what it will be worth when it hits 100K miles though. This is still a psychological factor for many people, probably made doubly worse by the fact that it is a turbocharged car. You may be looking at a fair whack from depreciation.

[QUOTE]Ive had the car from brand new, soknow that its been treated fine (despite its miles). I will get the right to buy at lease end (they wont commit a price yet).Depending on what this is, against what its worth,I may:- i)buy it for Mrs. ii)send it back. iii)buy it,then sell to recover a small proportion of the monthly outlays.
New 4dr.turbo coming mid next month, cant wait for the next 70K+ miles in it!

Thanks G.C.
I have tried a few, with little interest shown because of the mileage they seem to have plenty of stock of plenty expensive 2/3 year old low milers.Because of this I dont think they like it to retail.

If the trade don't want it, you should be able to buy it from the leasing company for a price that suits you, sir ....
Check Parker's Guide, or similar, available in newsagents, for your car with average mileage (approx 10k/year), then deduct £1k for each 10k miles yours is over the average. You'll not be far away from a fair market value then. You should still try to get it cheaper from the leasing company - they should have made their money from the car during the lease term.

I know someone who bought an M-reg (I think) about 6 months ago that had 100,000 miles on the clock. He paid £10,000 for it.
Mind you it was white, 5-door and had a sun roof.
If I was you and given that prices have come down recently I'd offer between 10,000 and 11,000
Regards
James

Thanks for your reply Brian, as you would expect, dealers want it for the least they can get away with (lowest risk/no p/ex to offset against), for sure the lesing company will sell it for a price that suits them (rather than a price that suits me),they wont quote until it has to go back, they are probably expecting a decent price given that residuals were holding well at contract start 8/97 and did their figs on this?who knows. I think the opinion I am looking for therefore is Whats it worth in a private sale? Thanks guys.

I bought mine last December for 13700, private sale. It's a completely standard Dk Green 97MY 5 door on an R plate, with 29000 miles on it when bought.
Hope that helps. I think I was lucky with this one as most I saw were 15/16K for this age/condition. I far as I can tell, the market is slowing down a bit for secondhand Impreza's - Well Lane Turbo's in Batley have had a nice silver 97MY 5 door with a/c on sale for about 3 months! It's still 15K though...
Cheers,
Stephen
