I'm up for all suggestions on this one. I'm after the usual more power, handling etc

Current spec:
MY97 with the straight intercooler and smaller turbo
Full decat
K&N induction kit
Superchip
17" alloys with toyo's on
Hi-Spec 310mm 4 pots
265bhp & 240 ft/lb torque

What should I do next?

How much power and torque do you want? How much do you want to spend?

Turbo, fuel pump, injectors, uprated TMIC or FMIC and a remap would sort the power out and also wipe out the best part of £3000-4000, but if you don't want 330+ BHP you could get away with less bits than this.

Hi John,
I'd like to see the magic 300bhp being the max power boy that I am. However, I do not want to spend £k of pounds as I am saving for my dream car. (gonna take a long time, and it doesn't even come built!)

Cheapest way to get your power with safety then is to use a TD05 with the necessary work to get it to fit your car, use a Dawes to control the boost and an HKS FCD to give you a fuel cut back. Sell the Superchip and buy a Knocklink. If it dets turn the boost down or fit water injection. You might well get about 300 BHP if you held 16 PSI at 6000 RPM (rough guess).

You'll need a fuel pump too.

If it doesn't det or you can control it in other ways to reach your objectives then no you don't need an ECU. However, you won't make the most out of it. Depends again on what you want to spend. You won't get a reliable/safe 300 BHP without changing the turbo anyway.

Hi Chaz,

If you can, come to Well Lane this Sunday. I'm running my bro's MY97 with big turbo. Hoping to get over 300bhp. There should be at least 10 cars there with over 300. Come and see how it's done

I've got

full decat with wrapped DP
induction
HKS FCD
HKS EVC4 running 1.4 bar (seeing max EGT in DP of 650)
Hybrid VF22
Lightened pulleys
uprated fuel pump
100ml of NF per tank
(Uprated MRT top mount on its way)

Cheers

Rich

I'm in the same predicament with my 97 turbo. Where can you get a TD05 turbo from, and how much work is needed to fit the thing??
