New P1...but which backbox to fit?
I notice several entries regarding various scoobysport/prodrive silencer mods and having finally succumbed to the scooby lure have bought a P1 last week. So it's true - the expense of the car is merely the start of a series of mods that you just can't help but want, regardless of how good the standard spec is!
I'm after the infamous burble you all talk about - it seems some variants offer performance/noise at the expense of torque. I'd welcome suggestions from fellow owners as to what your preferred systems are.

Sure Luke - I hadn't thought that far but wouldn't need to keep the old one - the car has only done 2k so it's as new. I'll give you first refusal if I do go ahead with the change.

After reading all the posts on here for the last nine months I decided on the System from scoobymania and was not disappointed, It's a little cheaper than the scoobysport for just the backbox, you may find you are able to afford the midsection as well. The note is suberb!!!!!
I've got the Prodrive P1 stainless backbox on my MY2000. It sounds good without being too noisy for everyday use. The cost from Subdaru dealers is around £350
although you may get a discount if you're in the SIDC. I bought mine second hand for £200
Cheers,
Ian.

Chopper,
*forget* about power/torque increases with a backbox being fitted. It *really* doesnt exist - except a few bhp/lbft on a dyno that is not perceivable !
My choice - the prodrive P1 box was for me - sounds good (not as loud as the S/S, but noticeable), fantastic build quality, the *official* mod for the P1, and there are no queries with the warranty.........
Most of the others b/box's are good - but why bother worrying between £250 and £350 - you've got a P1 - treat it !

The prodrive WRbox isnt the official 'box for the P1 - and it doesnt sound anywhere near as good as the P1 prodrive backbox - although alleged power increases (alleged 10bhp) are the same.........
