Go for NavTrak pro-active

Is the price you quoted after the Puff discount of £100?

In addition to Navtrack + Trackstar, there is also Carbug and Tracker Horizon to consider in that price range.

Tracker benefits from their association with all police forces.

That's right Shunty, it comes with an Ipaq in that price.

Rather cool to have something in your pocket which shows you exactly where your car (or your wife's) is in the country.

Hi All,

I am looking @ Navtrak (£599inc) or Trackstar (£699inc)+ monthly sub, before I order 1 today is there anything else either new on the market, that I am unaware of or coming out next week type of thing??
The last thing I want to do is order 1 to be then told that the NEW model is already out

I know Sat afternoon is a bad for speedy replies, down the pub an' all or taking the missus shopping
but I need to book in for 1 before 4pm

Moderators - please delete the duplicate thread I posted in Drivetrain as I have been "sniffin the glue bag again"

thanks in advance

shunty

PTMW is the contact for NavTrak.

NavTrak will go anywhere in the UK.

I've got NavTrak and I'm happy with it.

One thing is that its not tied in to your alarm. This can be seen as a pro or a con.

Pro is that if someone did nick your keys or whatever it would still activate straight.

Con is that if someone smashes your window, etc. you don't know about it.

You also have to go everywhere with the disarming card which is credit card sized, but with a watch battery sized sensor on it - means it doesn't fit in the wallet to well! (I cut a hole in one of the CC holders so the sensor sticks through so I can place my wallet against it without taking the card out each time).

Unfortunately Navtrack will not install the system in NI
so it looks like I'll Have to go with Trackstar,
Does anyone know if these systems operate in realtime or are they SMS based?

Just booked mine in for Thursday with local guy, Navtrak £599 inc. Mind you he told me that it ties in with the immobiliser, but I take it not the alarm, as in doors & windows/ultrasound then??

cheers

I spoke to local crime prevention officer b4 I bought - said that as far as they were concerned the Tracker was best, so that is what I have fitted. Connected to alarm system so if alarm goes off I get a phone call then they contact the Police to find it. Easy to use - just set the alarm asy usual and walk away. May be a bit more expensive but I would say worth it for piece of mind.

I may have missed the point, but navtrack proactive is £499 FITTED including Vat according to their Website, and from memory a scooby was never an especially long install.

Heres link -

The passive trackstar is £499 fitted the Active (guardian or Protector) is £599 fitted (fitting about 3-4 hrs)

The tracker option I don't think is much use over in NI as when I first looked into getting a tracker (18mnths ago the RUC only had 12 cars equipped to track Tracker fitted cars (12 cars in the whole of NI where you are never more than 45 mins from the border )

Thumbs up

I had a Navtrak fitted a few months back (thanks puff ) and I decided to try it out.
It took all of 3 minutes for Navtrak to contact me and tell me the exact position where my car was headed!!!
Pretty damn good I would say, I'm well happy

Cheers,

Rob.
