This happened to me in an NCP carpark in Brighton.. I specifically parked infront of the attendants box for security.

When I went to pay I said "Didn't you see anyone breaking into my car", the couldn't-car-less attendant said "Erm, no mate".

I suspected he was in on the break-in but couldn't prove it.. what a good scam, calling up your tea-leaf mates when you spot a nice car in the car park you're manning.

What doubly irks, is that they caused you £1500 of damage and probably only got £50 for the head unit down the pub.

No one - spoke to the attendant, he seemed to find it funnyish in a silly way telling me he knows how I feel.
He then continued to tell me about when his car was broken into.

I'm not in the mood to hear about yours, when you can't even look after my car - i was thinking.

I will need to get all new locks. Does anyone know where I can get locks cheaper than Subaru?

GOOD NEWS!!!!

They caught the B**tards!! That night.

Someone phoned it whilst they were doing it!! Gave a good description and the OLD BILL picked them up at the bus station with 2 head units.

Serial number on head unit has been varified so just have to wait a while untill I can have it back!!!!

Turns out damage to my car is minimal but it will still cost me £300 but getting it delocked!

A right result!

Good work PLOD!

Thank you caller!

Sorry to read what happened, but glad you're getting the head unit back.

It's not going to get any better with all these drugos around. Sadly as time goes by, it will get worse I'm afraid to say. New drugs and more uses. A losing battle.

Wrexy.

Cheers Guy's.

Scrappy2 it all happened in the Western Tower Car next to the NCP under the Bingo hall nr the Station.

Won't be parking it there ever again mind. Have a friend in Newbury CID - he looked into Reading car parks for me, that and the NCP is the worst in Reading. The safest is the Oracle.

Hope no-one else gets caught!

Bad news mate! At least you're OK and they were caught though eh?
I was staying down in Bristol the other weekend and had to park in an NCP next to Jury's hotel. Glass on the floor everywhere. Had no sleep and then woke to find that 3 cars had been done and the security guard was threatened with a knife!
Luckily they left mine alone..

BTW are you coming to Crowthorne on Thursday eve??

A similar thing happened to me whilst parked in the maternity hospital car park in Bristol. The car was parked under a security camera, broken into and I had 20 CD's and a camera (in the car incase of baby!) nicked from the car.

It gets worse, the camera was not being video'd and the security guard was too busy reading 'The Sun' to notice anything.

And then to add insult to injury the police gave me the run around and 1st wouldn't and later couldn't fingerprint the car.

Jon

If you dont have security film on the windows, get it.

I've also noticed that my car gets more attention when clean, than when dirty...
